Dothan - Shoney's

 Today we decided to stop in at Shoneys in Dothan AL to have the lunch bar. Lunch was $8.99 and it is served Monday through Friday. Please check the facility for hours as upon talking to the waitress they may close early throughout the week. I only got one photo as this was a decision made during lunch to start doing. 

There was a mild selection of meat, but everything that was available was on point. My husband and I each had a piece of chicken. It was moist and very tender. The green beans were very well seasoned. The mashed potatoes however were a bit like the ones that you get out of the bag and they aren't fully done (even though you only have to heat up the water) The cole slaw was perfect, it had the perfect mixture of everything. My husband said that the cornbread was sweet and moist; absolutely perfect. I would even have to brag about the mac and cheese (Believe me I've had my fair share of awful mac and cheese) This was exactly how it should be. It didn't taste as if it had been overcooked at all. The desserts were limited, however, the chocolate pudding and the chocolate chip cookies were SO good!!!

The service was top-notch as well. They made sure that we were taken care of from the moment we sat down. The gentleman at the front was working so hard to handle the phone along with checking out customers. 

The facility itself is dated and could use some updating, but overall the facility was nice. 

I would give the whole experience an 8.5 out of 10. It's definitely worth going and having lunch
